To ensure compliance throughout the EU, the EC established verification procedures, and Member EcoDesign: An initiative led by the European Union. Adopted by the European Union Commission in October 2019, the implementation of the EcoDesign directive has an application date defined on the 1st of March 2021. The directive applies to newly produced refrigerated cabinets only – the systems, racks and condensing units are covered by other regulations. The practical impact of this new regulation is that power supplies designed to meet the efficiency and no-load requirements of Level VI or CoC Tier II will meet those of the new Ecodesign 2019/1782 regulation. However, the label and technical documentation must be updated in order to fully comply and be sold in the EU. There are two types of requirements foreseen in the Ecodesign Directive. Specific requirements.
